Spring of 2022 saw the publication of my very first short story collection, and debut book, titled Black City Skyline and Darker Horizons, from Hippocampus Press. Six of the fifteen stories had been previously published, whereas all the others are exclusive to the collection. And of course, the incomparable legend of horror, T. E. D. Klein, was kind enough to write the foreword, an honor which to date feels surreal and unrivaled.
Set within a shared world, these are tales of monsters both human and otherwise, with various locations, characters, and events recurring in an organic manner. A city under siege of an unpredictable virus is the setting for multiple stories, as is a small town with a fearsome nightly curfew. Strange beings and stranger creatures creep and scuttle from the shadows. The horrors of secrets and lies are brought to light. And ultimately, people just want to get by in their day-to-day life, even when faced with the horrors that they discover and are put through.
